How are you showing up?

The Buddhist path is about answering a simple question through our lived experience: how are you showing up?
How are you showing up?

Probably not the way you would like to.

Awareness is always ever-present. It is open, responsive, receptive.

When we are present in this way we are insightful, flexible, understanding. We have agency and are prepared to act.

Awareness has the quality of presence. Presence has a certain tone, balance, or energy.

We'd like to show up every day with presence, but that's not how it normally goes.

Instead we show up as busy, or tired. Or flustered.

Preoccupied, probably.

We show up not feeling confident, or ready, or well rehearsed.

Or we show up with attitude, dominance, asserting our name, or title, or advantage. We maintain control, play to our favor, work the room.

The whole of the Buddhist path is all about awakening and training the mind and this far off story of enlightenment.

But really it's about answering a simple question through our lived experience: how are you showing up?

That's it.

You can check your progress for yourself, every day.
